So Friday wasn't a total washout following the cancelled HW Rugby curry night, me and the Hirstmiester hit the Harrow PH. Ham, egg and chips - massive slices of gammon and 2 duck eggs no less, washed down with many beers. Back to Dave's and one of Louis J's famous reds and crumbly Stilton.

Saturday..eyes opened far too late, missed the breakfast rendezvous but still in time for the cinema. Took the the kids to Planet 51 giving Mrs H a rest (she'd covered the kids for the last 3 days of school closures). Whizzed back and picked her up after the Cinema - Pizza Express - half price offer..It was packed. Great Manageress! Had the 50% voucher on my Crackberry. Let me email it to her..she printed it off and had it waiting on the table when we came back for our reservation. Tried one of those Doughnut Pizzas with the Salad in the middle..think I'll go traditional next time.

Walked around town and saw a sad but impressive sight. A shrine to the harmonica playing, singing, ginger haired 'Carrot' as he was affectionately known. A popular, well known, young and sadly troubled individual. First reports were that the cold had got him, but it wasn't the white powder falling from the sky but an OD from the powder heated on a spoon and injected...what a waste...However, you don't often see such a shrine for vagrant that's passed away.

Nice drinks at neighbours on the Saturday evening..Thanks Sarah C..It will be all right..brave lady..and what dignity.

Sunday, up and out clearing snow from the school. 60+ people with brooms and shovels. All highly motivated and vowing the school could not be closed for a 4th day. Sod's law...the road is now clear but the school heating has broken down. Email confirms that yes, it is closed tomorrow..Ah!!

Picked Mum up from Heathrow and saw Sis who was literally the handler flying straight back to Dublin and off to Holland on Buddhist retreat tomorrow.

God it's so difficult dealing with someone who has Alzheimers. They're angry, abusive, opinionated whilst being totally confused and forgetful. It's hard not to get angry back and retaliate. Rows and anxiety attacks until 30 mins ago has kept the whole house up on a school night. Can't sustain this for too long.

Taken tomorrow off as holiday mainly to keep an eye on Mum, she's threatening to leave. She'll just wander off and get picked up by the Police.

anyway we all have our cross to bear...!!!
